Do You Need a Virtual Personal Assistant?

We all agree that one of the major stressors facing most business people is finding time to get all of your personal things accomplished while racing through a busy business day.  Now might be the time to investigate getting your own personal concierge, a virtual one (Experience Life magazine, June 2008).

For a monthly fee of $30 to $40, or an beginning hourly rate of $10, a virtual assistant can take over handling your routine tasks to free you up for non-stressed "free" time, according to Timothy Ferris, author of The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich.  "It can give you the breathing room to pursue dreams you've postponed until retirement," he believes.

This is basically an outsourcing service for personal tasks, like scheduling personal appointments, arranging travel, managing your inbox, etc...  You decide what tasks to offload to a vitual assistant.  Because many of the virtual assistant firms are based overseas, they can be working on many tasks while you sleep!

Here are just a few firms you may wish to check out:

  • Get Friday.  Location: India.  $15/hour, plus $10 monthly fee.  (www.getfriday.com)
  • My Number Two.  Locations: US and India.  $11.25/hour prepaid.  (www.mynumbertwo.com)
  • Sunday.  Locations: US, India, Philippines.  $29/month for 30 requests and up.  (www.asksunday.com)
  • Brickwork India.  Location: India.  Business oriented.  Fees based on projects.  (www.b2kcorp.com)
