Provide them with "Wow" service, keep their satisfaction levels high. Do not cut your customer support efforts--in fact protect those people and increase those resources. Now is not the time to forget who pays the bills and keeps your paycheck coming.
During bad economic times, the first inclination is to slash costs. Be smart where you make those cuts.
